Tea contains Catechins, a type of Antioxidant. In a freshly picked tea leaf, catechins can comprise up to 30% of the dry weight. Catechins are highest in concentration in white and Green teas, while black tea has substantially fewer due to its oxidative preparation .Research by the U.S. Department of Agriculture has suggested the levels of antioxidants in green and black tea do not differ greatly, as green tea has an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) of 1253 and black tea an ORAC of 1128 (measured in µmol TE/100 g).Antioxidant content, measured by the lag time for oxidation. About half(50%) of the catechin content of tea is EGCG Just a small quantity of tea leaves will steep many cups of tea.

It is this relative abundance that makes green tea special. No other food or everage contain this level of antioxidants.

EGCG is the focus of almost every scientific study.

Health Benefits

It may have health benefits as a nutritional supplement for cancer, atherosclerosis, blood sugar control, HPV virus infection, and neurodegenerative diseases. You can obtain this substance through drinking green tea or an extract supplement. On average, a cup of green tea will have roughly 100 mg per 8 ounces. The amount of EGCG present in green tea varies with different brands of the product, the region it is grown, amount of brewing time, age of the leaves.

GrinRich offers a convenient way to get the benefits of green tea in a highly concentrated cap form. It is standardized for bioflavonoid-like antioxidants known as polyphenols, particularly EpigallocatechinGallate. EGCG has been found in scientific studies to be a potent antioxidant.

The health benefits of this amazing antioxidant are deep and wide ranging literally covers every part of the body.

Catechin, has been found to outperform Vitamin C and beta-carotene ten times in scavenging the alkyl peroxyl radical. One study found green tea polyphenols to be more potent antioxidants than Vitamin C, Vitamin E, rosemary extract, and even curcumin in some systems.

According to the U.S. National Cancer Institute, in laboratory studies catechins scavenged oxidants before cell damage occurred, reduced the number and size of tumors, and inhibited the growth of cancer cells.

Below is a list of benefits
    • 1. Eliminates free radicals preventing cancer development by blocking the growth of substance that causes cancer. This also arrests aging.
    • 2. Connects with cholesterol, absorbs and blocks it
    • 3. Decreases cholesterol level in blood and prevents bad cholesterol caused by oxidation, which prevents narrowing of blood vessel caused by the build-up of bad cholesterol.
    • 4. Prevents arterial sclerosis, thrombosis, heart attacks and brain strokes.
    • 5. Green tea's antioxidants are dilators, because they improve the flexibility of blood vessels and make them less vulnerable to clogging -- and antioxidant-rich blueberries and pomegranates do the same.
    • 6. Effective for high blood pressure
    • 7. Blocks a function of enzyme that digests and absorbs sugar and prevents diabetes.
    • 8. Chronic fatigue syndrome: Effective against in different weight loaded, water immersion stress and immunogen-induced chronic fatigue syndrome. Research results may suggest that EGCG can activate the body’s defense system against TNF-alpha proteins, TGF- beta proteins which are involved in systemic inflammation.
    • 9. Suppresses aggregation of platelets and prevents thrombosis such as heart attacks and brain strokes.
    • 10.Fights bacteria and viruses and prevents influenza, food poisoning and cavities including including: O-157, Dysentery, Cholera, Mouth bacteria that can damage teeth, gums, and lead to periodontal disease, Piccoli, which causes gastric ulcers.
    • 11. HIV infection : May Help Regulate Viral Load
    • 12. Spinal Muscular Atrophy: Sakla and Lorson found that EGCG increases the number of SMN transcripts in spinal muscular atrophy cells, most probably through modulation of alternative splicing
    • 13. Neurodegeneration: EGCG is a natural chelator and has been shown to reduce iron-accumulation in instances of neurodegenerative diseases like dementia, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's.
    • 14. Improves conditions of intestines by blocking growth of bad bacteria and enhancing good bacteria like bifid bacteria. This regulates the function of intestines.
    • 15. Connects with substances (breath, fish, meat, human waste, etc.) and prevents odor.
    • 16. Detoxifies by connecting with poisonous substance and harmful heavy metals (lead, chrome, mercury, cadmium, etc.) and dissolves it.
    • 17. Changes harmful ultraviolet rays into non harmful light in a plant to protect it.
    • 18. Gargling with green tea is believed to be an effective way to protect oneself from influenza because of tea’s anti-viral functions.

Researchers found those who drank 5 or more cups of green tea a day were 16% more likely to live longer than those who drank less than one cup a day. Heavy green tea drinkers are also 26% less likely to die from heart disease.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea contains six types of catechins: EGCG, EGC, ECG, EC, GC and C.

EGCG is100 times more potent than vitamins C and 25 times more effective than vitamin E.

One cup of green tea provides 10-40 mg of polyphenols and has antioxidant catechins. EGCG as an antioxidant is about 25-effects greater than a serving of broccoli, spinach, carrots, or strawberries.

  • 1. Healthy Individuals: 1-2 capsules thrice a day
  • 2. Diseased condition: 2-3 capsules thrice a day
